My name is Karl Drage and I am SHOUT’s resident wedding & event photographer. I use the medium of photographs to tell as much of the story of your day as I can, and I absolutely LOVE doing it!

The ‘label’ that best describes my style of photography would be ‘documentary’, but even the most hands-off documentary wedding photographer has to get involved at a few key stages during the day! Group shots, for instance, are not just magically going to happen. And I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t want to take you away from your guests a couple of times during your big day to capture some beautiful shots of just the two of you together. For the majority of the day, however, I will let events unfold naturally. Of course, I’m still more than happy to fulfill any additional requests!



Couples I’ve worked with describe me as being relaxed yet professional, instilling a comfort-level that enables natural images to flow. I often work with people who tell me they hate the camera during our initial consultation, but by the end of their wedding day, I can pretty much guarantee that they will be asking me to take extra pictures for them.

One of my favourite parts of the wedding day is the wedding breakfast. I will put a long lens on and wander around in the background, capturing all of those lovely, fun interactions between your guests. I always set myself the challenge of producing at least one nice picture of each of them, and I normally come pretty close to delivering on it, too. Ultimately, my aim is to produce pictures that you want to look at again and again, and in a timely manner. I would LOVE to hear about your plans for your wedding day and for you to consider allowing me to be a part of it.

ALL of my wedding photography packages feature the following:
• All edited images in both colour AND black and white • Password-protected gallery • HD slideshow with licensed soundtrack • Edited images on a branded USB stick + • 50x 6”x4” prints in a branded wooden presentation box • 5x up to A3 prints • 30x up to A4 prints
Beyond that, my packages are time-based, and you can choose whether you receive a gorgeous premium photobook or not. Don’t worry if you don’t have exact timings at this stage, though. You can always upgrade your package at a later date.
The prices below are for a peak-season wedding (1st April to 30th September) taking place on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Discounts are available at other times & when booking more than one SHOUT supplier.

There’s only space to show a tiny fraction of my work here, but you can find lots more of my images adorning the walls in the SHOUT! showroom as well as some real client photo books from weddings I’ve photographed. Additionally, you can find digital versions in the Wedding Portfolio section of my website. “As generic terms go, ‘event photography’ is about as broad-brush as you can get. As an event photographer I’ve photographed everything from wedding anniversaries, birthday and Christmas parties and even celebration of life events through to massive public gatherings like air shows, sporting events and concerts. Whatever you’re hosting, you might like to get the action captured, for a variety of reasons.”

My event photography rates within Northamptonshire (regardless of the type of event you’re hosting) start at £200 for a two-hour booking, with each additional hour charged at a further £100. A four-hour booking would therefore cost £400. Discounts may apply for bookings in excess of eight hours. Bookings outside Northamptonshire *may* incur an additional travel charge. In return you will receive a digital download link containing edited high-resolution digital files in both colour and black & white of images captured during your event. You are free to use them in any way you wish (eg for supplying to the media to promote future events), the only restriction being that you cannot sell them to a third party. The images can also be provided on a generic USB drive for an additional £20 including P&P. If you so desire, an album of watermarked copies can be added to Facebook so that your guests can tag themselves in the pictures. Please get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
