We are proud to be one of the main sponsors of the Corby Awards. The awards are a fantastic evening of celebration and appreciation of excellence for Corby businesses. Its light-hearted atmosphere sets the tone for a fun, champagne-fuelled event with great live musicians throughout the night, quality entertainment and excellent food. This certainly does not detract from the prestige of the awards themselves. Unlike some awards who use social media for voting, The Corby Awards is judged by an expert panel made up of managers, accountants, business owners and CEOs.
Having won the award in 2016 for Best in Trades and Services, we felt it was only right to give something back to the awards ceremony that catapulted us into the limelight, and what better way to do it than provide exquisite venue styling for over 40 local businesses and 200 people.
Our brief
We are given a free rein to style and theme the awards as we see fit. We have the complete trust of the organisers and they know we will come up with fresh but appropriate ideas leaving the attendees of the event awestruck at the aesthetics of the room. Having such an open book is amazing for us.
When it comes to award ceremonies, we love making the room look stylish but with a simplistic look. We take the room decor and style into consideration before deciding on colour schemes or themes.
2017 saw the ceremony being held at Rockingham Forest Best Western. Taking advantage of the built-in up-lighting and down-lighting, we opted for a bold red and black colour scheme. Using coloured chair covers and table linen instantly adds colour. For sophistication, we add alternative matching silk sashes, runners, napkins and stationery. For centrepieces, we used various vases such as lily, cylinder and martini with feathers and LED lights. The stage was built and we added screens, a modern lectern and black curtains. A red carpet entrance ensured the guests felt like celebrities.
In 2018, the awards ceremony was moved to The Manor Suite at The Holiday Inn. With a more vibrant, lighter feel to the room, we decided that less is more. Using navy blue and white chair covers and table linen with matching runners and napkins and the tables beautifully set for the 3-course meal. What better way to enjoy the ceremony than with various sized cylinder vases filled with water and candles submerged in navy blue pumpkin holders. Mood lighting was strategically placed around the room and on the stage. Screens again were provided and placed to ensure the packed room could see exactly what was happening. A white carpet entrance complemented the feel for the evening.
Our job doesn’t start and stop with making things look pretty. Years of experience allow us to assist with room layout, seating arrangements and table plans which all allow events to run as smoothly as possible.
This year, The Corby Awards 2019 will again be held in The Manor Suite, at The Holiday Inn on the 5th October, and we have big plans to make this the biggest and best awards to date.
